BSAS oversees the statewide system of prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery support services for individuals, families, and communities affected by gambling and substance addiction.

Harm-reduction services, like those offered by BAMSI’s Community Outreach, Prevention and Education Center, buy time. When someone who uses drugs comes to the COPE Center, they may not be ready to enter treatment yet. Once someone is ready to accept treatment, COPE staff will set them up with one of BAMSI’s Substance Use Disorder specialists and help them receive the detox and recovery services they need.

Arbour Counseling Services offer a continuum of care including assessment, an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT). Our outpatient Suboxone and Vivitrol treatment programs may help support clients facing opioid or alcohol dependency.

Youth CICC staff coordinate the referral process for youth in need of residential substance use disorder treatment. In the process, CICC staff are a central number for families and organizations seeking help for youth, and recovery services. Screening tools and assessments are used to determine the level of care that is needed for each caller. If appropriate, clients are placed into a DPH-funded youth residential treatment program. Staff also provide assistance to the residential programs, including data dissemination and information updates.
